This is our last day at Meridian RV Resort & ready or not we are leaving tomorrow morning for California to visit Kevin, Romana, Christian, Juliana & Natalya. We are looking forward to visiting them in their new home. They have been there a year & this is the first opportunity we have had to visit. This will be the first stop on our way to Colorado. It has been a "whirlwind" trying to get ready - nothing has gone quite as smoothly as we would have liked. We spent all day Friday sitting around Camping World waiting for the work to be done on the 5th wheel. What was suppose to be about a 4 hour job ended up being more like 6 hours. You can only browse for so long before you run out of things to look at. Friday was frustrating because we lost the entire day.
Dharma was very good - she just lounged around on the floor & let everyone ooh & aah over her. She is so mellow. She just goes with the flow! Customers would stop by & chat & the employees would come over & talk to her & pet her. She just loved every minute of it.
Yesterday we moved what furniture that we could out of the 5th wheel & had the carpet cleaned. The carpet looks wonderful. He really did a great job. It has not been cleaned since we were in New York. I made Bob take off his shoes last evening when he would come in. That lasted all of one day! We have been working on finishing up last minute things today - packing up the storage bin - we are still carrying too much. It may take us awhile to learn to cull out more "stuff". The truck is washed, diesel topped off. We will just have the usual last minute "buttoning up" in the morning. We will try to be on the road before the morning rush hour.
We have heard that there may be a possibility of high winds tomorrow coming into California. If so we may not make many miles. We may make it to Blythe & stay over night. It is about a 6-7 hour trip to Kevin's & that is too much in one day when we will be pulling the 5th wheel.
Now that the day has finally come, I'm a "tad" nervous. This is a whole new experience & life style change for us. Next stop California!!
