Hump Day! The days just seem to fly by. We did not even have a chance to write on the blog yesterday. We were off again yesterday & where did we end up going again? Wal Mart, of course. Bob had tried to get a prescription filled Monday & it had expired, so off we went with a new prescription yesterday. We also had to stop at Home Depot for a piece of wood for a backing on the steps into the 5th wheel. For some reason, Dharma is having difficulty climbing the steps since we have been here. She has actually fallen a couple of times trying to get inside. We will see what happens. The things we do for our "kids"!
One concern we had prior to going on the road, was what would happen if there was a family emergency. Well, unfortunately, we had a call from Tom (Bob's brother) that his mom had fallen Monday night & fractured her hip. She is in Chandler Regional Hospital & surgery was scheduled for this afternoon. Our prayers are with her & hope everything goes well.
Today was our first official day of working. I learned another first today - I can now drive a golf cart! Not only that, but I even managed to back up with a trailer behind the golf cart. Of course, I drove Bob crazy because I drove at about 2 miles/hour - what can I say, I'm a little old lady. This was our first day on our own & cleaned cabins, restrooms, laundry room & tried to get all the cleaning supplies organized. This retirement is proving to be much more than we expected. We work! I'm not sure what happened to the original 3 hours. I'm not complaining. I have not managed to get into the retirement mode yet. Bob, on the other hand is feeling overworked. He is in the office tomorrow, so that may be easier for him.
The Animas River is still running fast & high. Eric told us that it is running between 9-10mph & it normally only runs at 4mph. The staff is all going rafting next Tuesday. That should be fun - maybe a little scary. We will let you know. Bob is afraid he is going to fall out and drown. Maybe we will have some pictures to post.
Got to dash & take Dharma for a walk before she heads to bed on the couch.
