Today was our first official day off, so where did we go? Where else WALMART. Still gota eat so we went and picked up some groceries. We drove the back way to town on County road 250. Boy, is that on twisty turny road. 35-40 MPH most of the way with a lot of 25 & 15 MPH. It sure is pretty though. Lots of really neat homes and lots of warning areas for flooded roads and rock slides. It' s right up against the San Juan Mountains. They are between 10,000 & 12,000 ft here with some still covered with snow. They had snow here at the campgrounds the end of April.
We put up the screen room today so Dharma can stay outside when we're working instead of being cooped up in the 5th wheel. She's starting to have problems getting up the steps. Don't know what's the problem. She also seems to be having problems with the altitude here (6700ft). When we take her for walks, she starts panting a lot and it's not even warm. We'll have to keep a close watch on her.
I've included a short video of the river as it passes the campgrounds here. It' very high and running quite fast because of all the snow melt and run off. Some of the people have been going to a private lake north of here fishing and catching some 12 -14 in Rainbow trout. We bought Judy a fishing pole before we left AZ so we're going to give it a try. Haven't been fishing in a long time and Judy hasn't been since she was a kid so it should be fun.
P.S. The video was to big and failed to load before they shut the Internet down for the night. I'll try again tomorrow.
