We woke up to 36 degrees this morning - clear & cold. We are still trying to adjust to the cold mornings. It is quite a change from Arizona. Hate to admit it, but we have had to run the heaters early in the morning. Once the sun comes up it warms up in the 5th wheel fairly quickly, but jumping out of bed first thing in the morning is definitely a culture shock. Even Dharma is staying snuggled under her blanket later in the morning. Poor Dharma is having a little difficulty adjusting to her new environment right now. She cannot quite figure out where she is, where her friends are & what she is suppose to do. Of course, the kids all love her & come over & pet her & talk to her. She eats that up. Right now she is out on her hammock bed soaking up the sun!

We had to take a ride into Durango yesterday to pick up a few things & make some calls. Groceries are more expensive here. Diesel is $4.76/gal. We are a little concerned that we cannot get cell phone coverage here. We may go back down to Durango today & check about different coverage. We feel a "tad" isolated with out the cell phone.

We met with Jamie (manager of the park) yesterday & we are still not sure exactly what we will be doing. It sounds like we will be trained to cover all aspects of the park from cleaning to registration, etc. Louise, who works in the Cafe, was trying to recruit me to help in there during there busy hours in the morning. I told her I'd be happy to help - I could learn to flip pancakes with the best of them! Everyone we have met so far has been very friendly, helpful & SO HAPPY! We are going to a staff meeting this morning at 11am. Jamie is planning on us starting to work on Monday. She is giving us time to get settled in this week. I have quite a few campers from Arizona. It seems to be a very popular spot for them - lots of high price motor homes & trailers.

I've included a picture of our site & the Animas River that the park is on. The river is rushing right now because of the snow fall run off. We heard on the radio yesterday that some of the passes in the mountains are still not open because of the snow. Can you believe it! We are parked right next to the Cafe & this is a picture of the patio where you can sit for meals. They also show movie there in the evening.
