I can't believe it is Saturday. Time is flying by very quickly. Yesterday was a busy day. First, Kevin took us on a tour of old Claremont in the morning. It reminded me of the North East especially Glens Falls {in the old days), & Saratoga Springs. It is a beautiful city with tree lined streets, lots of flowers and older stone houses. Everything is green, green, green. They even have a train depot! The city is nothing like I expected. It is tucked between hills and mountains. From there, Kevin took us up Mt. Baldy. It only takes about 30 minutes to drive to the top & what an amazing ride. It is the best of both worlds - warm & sunny down below & cool pines at the top of Baldy. Kevin said they get snow on Baldy in the winter & there are traffic jams with people trying to get up to see the snow. There are hiking trails, cabins & even a little town on the way up. There is a ski lift & skiing in the winter. We got a big kick out of one particular sign that said "throwing snow balls at motor vehicles was prohibited"! Bob had a little difficulty with either the altitude or the winding road up, because on the way down he got really nauseated & had to lay down for awhile when we got back to the house.
Kevin picked up the kiddos from school early, because the Webb School was having a family barbecue for the administrative staff. It was an amazing event with lots of terrific food & activities for the kids, volley ball for the adults. horse shoes, raffle drawings, etc. We were amazed - lasted all afternoon.
Juliana, Natalya, Bob, Dharma & I took a walk around campus in the evening. Thank goodness we had the girls with us or we would have probably gotten lost. The campus is on approx. 78 acres. Before we knew it, it was time for bed for the kids & us shortly after. What a great day.
