We've been busy the last few days catching up an some things that need to be done here after the winter. There's been a few guests the last week so chalets had to be cleaned after they left and laundry, endless laundry, had to be done. The hot tub at "Wild Rose", the larger of the two chalets, went on the fritz and Gary took it back to Anchorage Saturday to see if it could be fixed. Since the tub is gone, this is a good time to do some deck maintenance so we cleaned the deck with wood cleaner.
After we finished we decided to drive to Coopers Landing, about 15 miles North of here to see what was there.
We stopped by the boat launch at Kenai Lake. It's just another of the many lake around here. It's a lot bigger than Upper Trail Lake where we are and goes thru the mountains almost all the way to Seward. It is a beautiful lake with the snow covered mountains in the background.
Gary's Dad and Mom came up Monday and brought the stain for the deck and the wiring and panel for the new hot tub. Today we restained both decks before the hot tub is brought back. It really turned out nice (we think but Gary and Treva haven't seen it yet). Gary couldn't get the tub fixed so he'll have to get a new one but all he could find was 220 volt and the old one was 110 volt. So that means new wiring.
Today while Judy cleaned "Stellar Jay", I ran the wiring and mounted the panel for the new hot tub. After dinner we decided to have a BIG night so I took Judy to Moose Pass and we stopped by the old historic Water Wheel and then drove down to the train crossing to watch the Alaska Railroad 7:07 come thru on it's way to Anchorage. We then took a tour of Moose Pass RV Park. We took some pictures and by then we were exhausted. We're not used to that much excitement in one day, so we called it a day and headed home.
