DAY 19 OF OUR ALASKAN ADVENTURES

Woke up this morning about 5:30 AM and it was already broad daylight. It's now 6:30 AM and the sun is just popping up over the mountains on the East side of the Yukon River. Boy, I don't know how long it will take to get used to these long daylight hours. Guess that means we'll have lots of time to fish, huh Oscar?
There's another 5th wheel in the parking lot this AM that was towed in last night about 11:00 PM. They dropped both the truck and 5th wheel so don't know what's up with that. They had the truck on a flat bed tow truck with the 5th wheel being towed behind. Looks like that tow company was a little better prepared to handle that tow job then the one that towed us. But I guess the end result is what counts and we got where we needed to go.
I talked to the guy today that was towed in last night. He's got a Dodge that the transfer case exploded in pieces. He had to be towed 200 miles. I guess we were luckier than we thought. He's from New Hampshire and he's headed to Kenai, Alaska for the 8th summer in a row. He goes up for the summer fishing every year. Oscar maybe you better not wait for the pictures. He said he really doesn't go fishing he goes CATCHING!! It is absolutely amazing how many people travel the Alaska Highway each year. He's been very helpful with information on where to stop and stay, road conditions, and other travel information. Most people we've met are more than willing to help each other out and share their knowledge of the area. I guess when your in the wilderness, you have to depend more on each other than in the big cities.
Not much to do today. Just killing time and watching the activity in Wally World parking lot. The weather today is warm (66° - that's 19° for you Oscar) but there are lots of high puffy, dark clouds. Looks like it's trying to decide whether it wants to rain or not.
