A VISIT WITH SHARI

Thought I'd back track a little and include a picture of last nights sunset. We had traveled through rain and cloudy skies yesterday on our way from Fort Edward, NY to the Clarence Travel Plaza on I-90 Thruway where we pulled in to spend the night. After dinner, we walked up to the plaza and on the way back to the 5th wheel I could not resist taking a picture of the sunset. The clouds were a combination of gray, black and pink from the setting sun and the moon was just above the clouds. It was pretty neat.
Up at 430am this morning to turn on the electric coffee maker, and of course, it would not come on. There was power to the outlet, so.....this "new" two week old coffee machine from WalMart had bit the dust. "Grumpy Bear" can't start the day without out the old coffee fix, so off we headed to Tim Horton's for his morning fix at 5:00am - thank goodness for a Tim Horton's at this plaza. We finally got on the road around 6:00am headed for Cleveland, Ohio. I know that California is known for it's vineyards, but believe it or not western New York State also has a lot of vineyards. From Buffalo to the Pennsylvania border, we passed field after field of grapes growing along I-90 - tucked between wooded areas and in open fields. When we stopped at a rest area, we could even smell the pungent aroma of the concord grapes. We pulled into Middleburg Heights, Ohio around 11:00am and immediately stopped at the nearest WalMart to exchange the non-working coffee maker. Things, however, are never that easy. They never have an exact replacement, so after hemming and hawing we ended up with another new, and different, coffee maker. Lets see how long this one will last!
We are parked for the night in the parking lot of Robert's sisters apartment complex. Shari met us here around noon and we had a pleasant afternoon visiting with her and her cat "Gracie". We went to dinner at Applebee's and we headed back to the 5th wheel while she headed back to a retreat that she is attending this week. Unfortunately the visit was much too short but it was wonderful to see her. We will be on our way to Port Clinton tomorrow for the three day class reunion get together for Robert. One little glitch - coming into the apartment complex along a tree lined road, Robert was distracted and pulled too close to a curb and a little too close to an over hanging tree limb, which ripped one of our solar panels and bracket off the roof of the 5th wheel and tore a huge hole in the roof. Luckily no rain today, but tomorrow morning we need to get the solar panel disconnected and off the roof and get the exposed area covered with duck tape or something water proof until we can get on the road and the roof repaired. Maybe it's time for a park model!!
