FORT EDWARD, NY TO BUFFALO, NY

After a few minor glitches, we finally had the 5th wheel "buttoned up" and ready to pull out of Michelle's driveway around 11am this morning. Michelle's driveway looks bare now without the 5th wheel parked there. The gravel area is back to being open for her dog clients to park when they come to class, rather than on the grass. We gave the "kids" - Sophie, Possum, and Jaegar (Michelle's dogs) all a pat on the head before we left. We had intentionally decided not to fight the early morning traffic going into Albany on the Northway, and had planned on a later start - but not quite that late. Oh well, the best laid plans....... Our goal today was to make it to Buffalo, NY and we pulled into the Clarence Travel Plaza on I-90 around 4:45pm to spend the night with the rest of the truckers on the road. What a boring drive - straight interstate from Albany to here(310 miles). We ran into a little rain and lots of wind, but otherwise smooth sailing. The New York State Thruway toll is based on how many axles and height of your vehicle and we happen to fall under a class 4H, which gave us the privilege of supporting the state of New York with a $48.20. Needless to say the "boss" was a tad vocal and not too happy about the charge, but given the options - what could he do. It was that or route 20 through all the towns. We will be on our way to Cleveland, Ohio tomorrow morning for a quick overnight stop to see Robert's sister, Shari and then onto Port Clinton, Ohio the next day.
