We ended up going to the fireworks in Durango July 4th with Nancy & Kurt & we saw the most amazing fireworks. What a show!! The only word to describe them would be awesome. We parked in Albertson's parking lot & had a perfect view. They lasted about 3o minutes & they were free - something unusual these days. When we left, we could see people parked along the roads & in parking lots on main street in Durango. It was well worth the trip in.
Nancy & Kurt are leaving today. It has been wonderful having company & visiting in the evenings. They went on the Durango/Silverton Narrow Gauge train ride yesterday & really enjoyed it, even though they got rained on on the way back. We have had thunder storms every afternoon that they have been here. It never fails - no rain for 4 weeks & every day they have been here we have had rain in the afternoon! Yesterday we had a real down pour for about an hour. We were going to have a picnic dinner outside, but had to move it in because of the mud around the fire pit. Oh well, that is part of camping! We had a little trouble with leaks in the screen room - it maybe time to consider a new awning - this one is 10 years old & the rail attached to the 5th wheel is beginning to pull away. It is beyond the point of fixing. Of course, here we are in the boonies with no Camping World or RV outlet in the area.
Nancy & Kurt are heading back to Chandler today & we will miss them. We are in for a busy day today, most of the campers are leaving today & we have 11 cabins to clean & turn over, so I'd better get going.
Well, we set a record today - managed to get all the cabins done (thanks to people checking out early) and we are still alive & kicking. The 5th wheels/trailers & motor homes have been lined up since 2pm for check in for this week. This is suppose to be another popular week at the park. We are off tomorrow & Tuesday - no special plans yet - just catch up. We need to spread some wood chips around the screen room - to see if we can keep some of the mud off the outside. Yesterdays storm really did a number on the outside.

Alberton's! Wow, I really miss a good grocery store. We have 3 choices, Kroger (Fry's), Walmart and Harvest Foods (which reminds me of those gross Food City stores). The Kroger's out here are nothing like the Fry's in AZ, however, they are building one of the "largest" Kroger's in Maumelle and should be open by Aug/Sept. It's supposed to be like a Fry's Market Place - I cannot wait!

Glad you had a good visit with Nancy and Kurt! Even though it rained, I bet is was still beautiful and a nice visit.

Did you do anything fun on your days off?
