The second cabin arrived late Monday. It was like the other and supposed to be here in the morning but got here so late they let it sit out on the road in front of the campgrounds until Tuesday. We had to go into Durango to get some things so we didn't get to see them bring it in and set it. But since they were done and gone by the time we got back about 1:00pm it obviously went a lot smoother. All the delivery crew does is deliver and set them on the foundation. Now someone else has to come in and level them and hook up all the utilities. They are pretty nice inside and even have a loft. There will be a spiral staircase going up to the loft when their done. The loft isn't finished and Jamie asked Judy for her ideas on decorating. She wanted to know about carpet in the loft but Judy thinks it would be too difficult to keep clean and suggested hardwood flooring like the downstairs.
They will probably finish one and use it for a sales model because they plan to sell Time-Share units here. Don't know how well that will go over but I guess they've already sold some. Guess some people will buy anything if the Sales Pitch is good enough. We like it here and the mountains are very pretty but don't think we'd invest in a Time-Share here.
Last night about 9:30, we had a couple of bus conversions pull in the two spots next to us.
Boy, are those big old Detroit Diesels noisey!! They must have left those diesels run for 30 or 40 minutes right when we were going to bed. I was about ready to have Mr Smith and Wesson go out and talk to them when they finally got them parked. I will have to admit though that the guy driving the blue one could really drive that thing. He backed that trailer you see in the picture in next to his spot and then parked the bus all in the dark with just a flashlight directing him. Today we got to talking to him and he invited us inside to see the bus. Boy was it cool inside. It even has one of those old cast iron bath tubs with the legs on it. It was a wide body bus 102 " wide built in 1969 in Belgium for Continental Bus Lines. That was the only year they built that wide body because at the time there was no interstate highway system and only Ohio, Texas, and California
would allow them on their roads. I'll bet that thing is a challenge to drive on a narrow mountain road. The guy bought it off eBay and it was already converted but a lot of the stuff on it didn't work so he had to fix it. But he got it at such a good price that he could afford to put money into it. He gets about 6-7 miles to the gallon even pulling the trailer with a car on it. That's about all we can get with our truck in the mountains so I guess he's doing alright.
As we mentioned in earlier posts, we've been having problems with Dharma barking when we leave her outside when we're working. Every time she sees us come by or can see us through the RV's she starts barking. We've had to put her inside a couple times to get her to stop. SO . . . today we bought a BARK COLLAR. We really don't want to do this, but we can't have her barking all the time especially when the park has rules about controlling your dogs. They can hardly get after campers when they're own employee's dogs are barking. No one has said anything and they all like Dharma but we have to stop the bad behavior so we'll give the collar a try starting tomorrow.
