Did Montana Skip Fall??

We finally got the truck back and headed out of Butte, Mt today in the mists of a snow storm. It was raining when we went to bed last night but by the time morning rolled around it had turned to snow. WHAT THE HEH !!! This is September 30th. Judy said this wasn't in her contract so I had to drive until the snow quit.We drove in a snow storm until about 11:30 when we got to Spencer, Idaho. The skies still look like it could snow at any time but by then it had quit so Judy took over the driving. There's still alfalfa in the fields here that hasn't been bailed yet. I bet those farmers in Montana are not happy right now. That last cutting is probably their profit for the year and there it sat in the field under about 5" of snow. We had hoped to get to see Yellowstone National Park but because of the snow we bypassed it and headed down I-15 South as fast as our little truck would go. Next trip to Alaska we'll wait until June to go up and get out the 1st of Sept. There's not a whole lot to see down I-15 thru Montana except cows in the fields but we did see about 50 - 100 Antelope along the road but it was hard to get a picture traveling 60 MPH down the interstate. I did slow down a couple times when traffic allowed but the trigger man (oops - woman) was to slow. If you click on the picture and enlarge it you can see this one herd she got. We had expected to see them on the plains in Southern Alberta and the big grain fields in Northern Montana but didn't see any until just before we got to Idaho. Northern Idaho is a pretty boring place. Sure can't compare to Yellowstone but OH well !! We do see off in the distance, mountains we assume to be the Bitterroot Range and they have quite a bit of snow on the peaks. Well we just passed through Idaho Falls and we're back to the normal - Driving in the rain. Judy's driving and as usual, it's raining. We've been on the road 16 days and with the exception of two days, we've driven in the rain the whole trip. We just pasted through Pocatello, ID and it's hailing. We had all kinds of weather to drive in today EXCEPT SUN. Come On Arizona !!! We finally drove out of the snow and rain and made it to Sunset, UT where we'll spend the night in the Wally World parking lot before heading out tomorrow. Hopefully we'll be back in Arizona on Saturday where we'll meet my oldest son and his family for the final campout this season at our favorite spot in AZ North of Payson on top of the Rim.
