Back in Arizona
We have had no internet connection for about 10 days. We made it back to Arizona on the 2nd of October after 18 days on the road. We had been driving about 700 miles with another "Check Engine Light". Boy am I discussed with this truck. We spent the night in the WalMart parking lot in Page, AZ. The next morning we headed for our favorite camping spot on the Rim by the Blueridge Ranger Station. On the way we stopped at Meteror Crater that was discovered in the early 1900's by a rancher who then devoted his life to it's study.
We met my son Rob and his family for a few days of relaxing and unwinding after the long trip.We stayed there until Wednesday and then headed for the "Valley of the Sun" and back to civilization (confusion). We really enjoyed camping with the family - the camp fires in the evening and exploring some of the forest roads in Rob's Polaris Ranger that we have been unable to navigate with the truck. Rob took us Geo Caching - a new experience and it was fun watching Connor and Aiden hunting for the treasures.
It was hard to pack up and head back down to the valley. We parked at Rob's house for three days so we could clean the road dirt off the truck and 5th wheel. Boy were they dirty!! You can't imagine how dirty your rig can get unless you've made that trip yourself. On Saturday we pulled out of Rob's and headed for our
Winter home at Superstition Lookout RV Resort in Apache Junction. There are hardly any snowbirds here yet and it may be a mixed decision for many of them if they're watching the weather. Rain and snow lately in the Plains and Mid-West but still high 90's here. Next week the temperatures are supposed to start down toward more normal levels so I supposed they'll start coming. It'll be good to see old friends again.
