"Home Again"

It is difficult to believe that we have been back at Superstition Lookout for almost three weeks. The time is going by very quickly - between catching up with doctors appointments and and varying tests that seem to be part of our lives now that we are "seniors". We are slowly getting settled in. I have managed to get the inside of the 5th wheel somewhat clean and managed to remove at least one layer of the gray dust from our trip down from Alaska. We had the carpet cleaned and that helped some. We have a few more projects to attend to. The rubber gasket on two of our side windows on the slide outs came loose on our way down - now patched up with the old stand by - duct tape. We need to have someone come out and check to see what needs to be done to fix that. It is always something when your house is on wheels!
Life has not been all work, however. We have had some time for fun things. We have gone to Connor's soccer games at the Gilbert Soccer Fields on Saturday mornings. We managed to capture a picture of him kicking the ball into play for his team - the Sharks, last Saturday. It is fun to watch these little 5 year old soccer players running up and down the field. What a challenge for the coaches to keep their short attention spans focused on the game. I spent a "girlie" weekend with my daughter, Kelly, and granddaughters, Breanna and Alyson in West Phoenix and had a wonderful time. We went out to dinner, watched a "girlie" movie, stuffed ourselves with popcorn and Alyson and I had a marathon - 6 hour- Dogopoly game on Sunday morning before I came home. We finally had to call the game, but Alyson won by a landslide and was thrilled to have beaten me.
We stopped at Meridian RV resort Wednesday for a short visit with friends we had met there a few years ago. It was nice to see Elaine, Judy and Jim again and we hope to get together with them soon. We cut our visit short because it was a "cool" and windy day yesterday and we were all shivering and trying to keep warm. The weather had taken a sudden dip from the low 100's a few days ago to the low 60's on Tuesday and Wednesday and this morning we even hit 40 degrees. We had a good old dust storm on Tuesday that totally obliterated the Superstition Mountains and the valley. We went from shorts and t-shirts to long pants/shirts and jackets in one day. Bob and I felt like we were back in Alaska! This is only suppose to last for a few days and then back up into the high 80's and low 90's so we should not complain - at least there is no snow! Friends and acquaintances are starting to pull into Superstition Lookout now and it is wonderful to see familiar faces as well as meeting new people as they come in.
