Things here a Durango Riverside Resort have been pretty slow the last couple of weeks. There have not been many campers here and the weather is cooling down. Dharma, who usually wants to go outside first thing in the morning, doesn't even want to go out until the sun comes up over the Eastern mountains and starts to warm up her pad. She's been staying on the couch until about 10:00 AM when we come and get her. We just tell her it's time to go to work and she goes out and gets in the golf cart and rides around with us until we're done. Today she goes back to the Vet for her final checkup before we head back to AZ. We need to get her prescriptions and records to take with us.
We haven't done much the last few weeks as far as sightseeing goes. We still have to ride the narrow gauge train from Durango to Silverton which we're going to try to do this coming Sunday. One of the young guys (Alec) that worked here during the summer and now on weekends is going to babysit Dharma that day. She likes him (she likes everybody) and rides on the golf cart with him so she'll be in good hands.
Management in having a picnic tonight for all the workers who've been here this summer. The campgrounds is scheduled to close October 19th but we'll be leaving before then. There just isn't enough work now to keep everyone busy. There's still a few things left to do before winter, but Kyle Reed, the maintenance guy, lives here year round so he'll probably finish up what doesn't get done by the time the workampers leave.
