UPDATE ON OUR STATUS

It's been quite awhile since our last post. When we're sitting still for months there's not much to write about because our lives are quite boring. But we're on the go again. I did want to include a picture of Judy in her summer ride. Tra should get quite a kick out of it. We left Platte City, MO on Monday, Sept 12 and drove to Chanute, KS where we spent two nights. While there, we toured the Nu-Wa Hitchhicker RV Manufacturing plant and saw how Hitchhikers are made. I have to say I was very impressed with the quality and care that goes into these 5th wheels. They are very well constructed with not the usual production line speed that we saw at Jayco last Summer on that plant tour.
I wish I could afford one. They are rather pricey but I think worth the money. Our next stop was Branson, MO for a taste of that "Las Vegas" culture. It's a very interesting place but most of the shows and entertainment are WAY out of our price range. We did take a tour of "Talking Rock Cavern (The Fairy Cave". It was very interesting. You have to give credit to the first people to investigate it. That had to be scary. While in Branson, we camped at Table Rock State Park. It was very nice, with wide, level spaces everywhere from "Roughing it" to full 50A hookups for a very reasonable price.
We left Branson on Friday morning and headed to New Orleans, LA. Judy's been there years ago bu I've never been there so we decided to visit. We're staying at Jude Travel Park which is about 5 miles for the French Quarter in downtown NO. It's not the fanciest place but it's price is reasonable at $35/night for a full hookup 50A site. Today we'll head to downtown NO and visit the French Quarter and the other sights.
We'll try to get some pictures. Tomorrow we're going to try to find the self guided tour of the "Southern Mansions" in the area.
When we leave here we are planning on going down to the Texas coast for a few days in the Port Aransas area and see if we can park on the beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Hope the hurricanes hold off for a few more weeks.
